Coffee and Caffeine

Different coffee drinks have different levels of caffeine and the caffeine content  of some coffee drinks is as follows:

  • Espresso: the most caffeine heavy coffee drink and contains 70 milligrams of caffeine in one ounce shot.
  •  Drip Coffee: has less caffeine than espresso, a typical serving size of 12 ounces has 200 milligrams of caffeine.
  • Instant Coffee: A 12 ounces serving typically contain 140 milligrams of caffeine but can  vary by  brand.
  • Decaf Coffee: has low levels of caffeine only 8 milligrams.

An issue is that caffeine intake may vary significantly even if the person preparing the coffee uses the same tools and products.
